Background
Hi! My name is Quinn, and I am an independent game developer working out of Pennsylvania. I have been developing games solo using a variety of tools for most of my life. I am now, for the first time, looking to join a team and begin a professional career in game development, or general software development.
While my primary skill is as a programmer, I also have experience creating all other aspects of my games, including design, art, storytelling, and even music.

Projects
Below are some of the projects which best demonstrate my capabilities, with a focus on the Unity projects. I was the sole developer on all of them, responsible for the code as well as other elements, except for those cases where the Unity Asset Store was used.
A complete catalogue of my released solo development projects, including those using GMS, can be found here: https://quinn-patrick.itch.io/
ecliptic 2
ecliptic 2 is a game which simulates orbital motion in a 2D space using Euler’s Method. It was created using Unity 2D and C# scripting. I was responsible for all aspects of the game including code, as well as art, design, and sound. I created ecliptic 2 to learn about Unity 2D, as well as to expand on the ideas of the first game.
Timeflight Alpha
Timeflight Alpha is my entry for Ludum Dare 50, made in Unity 2D. In keeping with the rules of Ludum Dare, I created every aspect of the game myself within 48 hours. My goal in creating it was to release a complete, robust, and fun game within an extremely short time limit, for the purpose of receiving extensive feedback and competing against the creations of other developers.
Hack n’ Slash Demo
To master Unity 3D, I created a demo in which the player must traverse a multi-room dungeon by solving puzzles and defeating enemies with a melee weapon. I achieved this by mastering many Unity development concepts in a short time and making use of external resources, including the Unity Asset Store. I did this with the goal of demonstrating my ability to implement features which may be considered to difficult for a Unity beginner.
Tetris Clone
As my first Unity 3D project, I created a clone of Tetris using C# scripting. My goal in doing this was to demonstrate my ability to create a basic game using the tools provided by Unity.
Vespadian
Vespadian is a Final Fantasy style RPG created using GameMaker Studio 2. I created Vespadian by restricting myself to a schedule of 6-7 months and heavily modifying a code base that I created for an earlier GameMaker Studio project. My goal in creating Vespadian was to give players a highly customizable and expressive gameplay experience, which was also stable, performant, and satisfying, in a short time.
